How to record drums for beginners
Interested in music production but have no idea where to start? Join this drum recording workshop at the UNITED POP academy in Brussels, learn some new tricks, and become a UNITED POP student! The workshop is part of the open day and registration is free but mandatory. This workshop will teach you the basics of drum recording. We'll cover easy-to-use techniques for tuning, microphone types, compression, eq, drums, guitar, bass, mixing and how they can be used to make better recordings, and minimal micing setups so you can get great tones with just a few microphones.

Joël Grignard has worked with many artists, on stage and in the studio as a sound engineer, music producer, musician (multi-instrumentist), composer (music, cinema). He is the Campus Manager of UNITED POP Brussels and the owner of Rubens Studio. His credits include Monsoon, My TV is dead, David Lund, Cecilia, Nova Scotia, Catherine Graindorge, Ivan Tirtiaux, Chad McCullogh, Kel Assouf, Luc Mishalle & Marockin' Brass, Dizzy Mandjeku & Alé Kumà, Baloji, Bram Weijters, Glass Museum, Adamo, and many more.
